What is a CCRC?
A Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC) provides all levels of care for seniors. It gives the resident and their families peace of mind to know that as the residents’ condition changes they can progress to higher levels of care to receive the services they need. St. Martin’s offers Retirement Apartments, Assisted Living, Evergreen (Alzheimer’s Care) and Skilled Nursing.
How do I pay for living at St. Martin's?
Residents or their families generally pay the cost of care from their own financial resources. Depending on the resident’s health insurance or long-term care insurance policy, costs may be reimbursed. Assistance with rent may be available for U.S. Veterans through the Aid and Attendance program. Please check with the local Veterans Administration for details.
Where do I get short term care after leaving the hospital?
St. Martin’s offers temporary care (respite) in the Retirement Apartments and Assisted Living. These short term stays are a great option for someone who needs extra help for a certain length of time. It can also be a great way for someone to test a community before moving in.
Are hospice services available at St. Martin's?
Yes, hospice services can play an important role in the care plan of residents in the Retirement Apartments, Assisted Living, and Nursing Home/Cottages. St. Martin’s staff will assist residents and families along with the primary care physician in adding this important service.
Are there physician services available on-site?
Yes, St. Martin’s Medical Director provides primary care physician services to residents in an on-campus clinic. Other professional services are available as well. Going to a physician clinic across town can take several hours; these on-site services are big time savers for residents and their families.
Can I keep my own physician when I come to St. Martin's?
Residents in the Retirement Apartments and Assisted Living may keep their same physician. All residents in the Skilled Nursing Home, are under the care of the Medical Director.
May I bring a pet?
Yes. Cats and small dogs, under 30 pounds are welcomed to be part of the St. Martin’s family in the Independent or Assisted Living apartments. The resident must be capable of caring for the pet and meet community guidelines.
May I bring my own furniture?
Residents that choose St. Martin’s to be their permanent home bring their own furniture and belongings. If a resident is staying for a respite (short term care), St. Martin’s offers furnished rooms.
Who owns St. Martin's? Are other faiths allowed?
St. Martin's physical and spiritual growth is guided by the Episcopal Foundation of Jefferson County. Although the religious orientation of St. Martin's is Episcopalian, residents of all denominations are welcome.
